Blogs per page:

Finally it works! I've spent the day playing with the RSS feed creator and now it's working! By default I've set it to only retrieve the last five blogs which should be enough for most people, it can always be changed later on. If you want to subscribe to the feed, simply use the hyperlink on the orange 'RSS' image at the bottom of each page. Most browsers now have RSS support in them so you shouldn't need an external reader. Slight warning though - due to the way this site was created (hacked to death when adding new bits) the hyperlinks on each RSS item all point back to the same place - the first blog page. At the moment I can't do anything about this, so the RSS feed is only really useful for knowing at a glance when a new blog has been created. So - what was wrong with it to stop it working before? Well my stupidity it seems. The way the site works is that all of the blogs are compiled into a single string and then returned to the page. For some reason I forgot (even though I wrote it!) that this was the case - and I was under the strange belief that an array was returned. The problem was that there is an array returned, but only the first part contains the blog - two other parts give information about which page you're looking at and how many blogs to display! So I was asking for the first five blogs - and there was only an array of three items returned, so it was bombing out after the third item, what a moron I am. Other fun I've had sorting this out has been figuring out why a few little code changes (to separate out the RSS from the main page information) has been adding the word "null" before everything. I eventually chased it down - I hadn't initialized the array, so when I was asking the site to append the blog text to the current information in the array - it was appending text to "null" and thus the error - how annoying! Oh well, it's all sorted now, yay!

Whoops - it's been a month and I haven't updated the blog in a while. This is half because i've not had a lot of time to do it - and half because i'm too lazy with the time I do have - and have found other things to do.
Well I can't remember what's happened since I last posted. I've been to see Perky I think - and that Titanic type film at the cinema - can't remember now what it was called. Review-ise, I badly need to get the Shuttle one done - it's getting silly now. I've completed the Mini-Kart review, it's up here at PlanetX64.com. It turned out to be quite a nifty little device, although I didn't get any chance to put Linux on there in the end.
Work-wise, I've been asked to be the primary contact for network administration in the UK office, so I've renamed my job title "Network Administrator - UK" which is quite cool. No pay rise or anything but it should hopefully boost my job prospects. Now I just hope they're going to give me time to play with the network.
I've also been across to Ireland for my first visit recently. I didn't get to see much as it was a business trip, and it was very tiring, but still glad I went. I'm still looking for a cheap motorbike too - I'm thinking I'm going to start off with a 125CC geared bike and when I've mastered that, take my full bike test. I'd rather not spend out £800 for the lessons and then fail at the end because I've not quite got full control of the bike.
Well that'll do for now - hopefully I'll update this again very soon! Oh and while I remember, Fatman has his site finally back up online. It's now here and he's put a new theme on it.

Loads of things to write this time. First off, I went to watch Mission Impossible 3, and Xmen 3. Both good films (Xmen was great as always) and I?d recommend both. Both weren't like the previous ones though, more like epic tales. Oh, and while I remember, stick around after the credits on Xmen, or you'll miss a treat of an extra, something very special.
I've just come back from Tori's sisters down in Portsmouth, where we spent the weekend. Not much to say, we didn't get to see many of the sights as we were out visiting family all of the time. Still, it wasn't too bad I suppose, and Tori enjoyed it, which was the point in going down there.
Review-wise, I?ve got the OCZ Mini-Kart and have been putting it through it's paces. Although it's not the fastest drive in the world, being able to carry around 1GB (they didn't send me the 2GB model) in your wallet without noticing it's there is great, perfect for carrying around files I might need. At the moment I?m trying to put a small copy of Linux on it so I can boot it on other people's computers. Saves me using the OS on their machine, and it'll get my understanding of Linux a bit better.
Oh, and while I remember, I'm now blonde!

While at work today, we got the most curious thing through the post - Microsoft's new campaign for hitting software license dodgers. A 'rock'. No I?m not kidding, Microsoft actually sent us a rock through the post. I'll get pictures soon, but basically the advertisement implies that there is no-where for the dodgers left to hide from Microsoft, not even 'under a rock'. Get it? Assuming Microsoft sent this to every company, half of Brighton beach must be missing right now. Pictures coming soon.

Well Tori's been back a while now - and I'm very happy about that, I missed her loads! I really should post blogs more often, I completely forget what?s been happening since I last wrote.
Oh well, my review of the Enermax Liberty 500W PSU is complete. I'll be posting it on here soon. I've also requested one of those new OCZ Mini-kart USB drives. They're only the size of a 10p piece from what I can see in the photos, but it'll hold 2GB. The trouble is though, its so small it is going to be lost or washed or run over or something. Thus that?s exactly what I'm going to do in the review - wash it, run over it, etc. I just hope it works afterwards!
For the record, while I remember - Scary Movie 4 was useless. Just wasn't funny in my opinion. Still, Xmen 3 is out this week, and Mission Impossible 3 is also out, stuff to watch!
