I've just checked my Degree results, and if I've worked this out properly, if the Uni works it out in the same way as I have (they should do) and if none of my grades are changed before the final moderation, then I'm about to walk out of University with a 2.1 degree in Computing and Multimedia, B.s.c !!! I only just scraped some of the grades though, and they weren't impressed with my Disseration, and WHAT THE HELL happenened in my networking exam? I thought I did really well?!! Anyways, a 2.1 is a 2.1....all of the hard work seems to have paid off ! YAY!!! ---------- 23/3/2005 @ 14:35 (GMT) Well its done, I've submitted my police application form. Now all I have to do is cross my fingers and hope they want to interview me. I would have thought so, but the whole thing is worrying me. They've only got a few places, and I really want to go in. If not, I'm going to have to get a job and keep reapplying, which would be completely gutting. Oh well, at least I can stop worrying about it now, its out of my hands. While I remember, for anyone in the UK, Tekheads are having a "up to 25% off" sale on all of their goods this week. I've had a look, but I don't think there is anything I want, apart from this nice heatsink for the media center (which of course, won't fit it..*sigh*). Oh, my laugh of the day came from someone calling me a "jekyll and hyde" character! I may be a little misterious, but I'm not a mad scientist! Oh, and the strange woman who didn't see me while I was running, and managed to catch me with most of a hosepipe full of water. She was a little embarrest, but I wasn't bothered, it was a hot day and made for a refreshing change! ---------- 22/3/2005 @ 23:38 (GMT) For anyone in the UK, I just watched a pilot of a new comedy called 10:69. Its about two cops in a car and racial discrimination. Although I have to give the makers of the show credit for perhaps showing the funny side to this issue, it is promoting it (if it does exist) and to be honest, I didn't find it funny at all. Oh well, leaves room for another show if it doesn't get through! I've found a problem with staying up late too, everyone is asleep and no one wants to talk to you, which sucks when you're in the house on your own! How sad am I or what?!! Nevermind, I've been talking to a load of old people I know, hoping to get back in touch with them properly, and then, who knows?!!Film time...Starwars Episode 2 again ! ---------- 22/3/2005 @ 2:24 (GMT) Well its about half past two in the morning, but I thought I'd update the blog before I go to bed. The images page now works, although it doesn't have captions, you can still see some of the test pics I've put in there. Also I've put heading titles on the blog page and the images page, although I've still got to sort out displaying only the first few blogs, and not all of them. When you try to view the images page, my appologies but you'll have to wait about 20 seconds for it to load. I don't know whats causing the problem but it could well be a old server having to process images. Which wouldn't make sense, as it does the blog ok. Oh well. And you can no longer stray into pages you can't access yet, it'll take you back to the blog. Go visit the google sponsers on the ad pages please, I'm sure they'll prove useful and I could do with the extra small change to upgrade this steam powered server! ---------- 21/3/2005 @ 16:5 (GMT) I've updated the site some more, as you can see the navigation bar at the top has new names now, and I've removed the drop down bar as I can't think of any sub-menu's (or many proper menus for that matter!) to go in it. The navigation bar also has code added to it so that the 'Controller' of the site will know where you want to go. I've not added the pages to it yet though, so don't be supprised if you click a link and it doesn't take you anywhere! I've also added the code to display a title at the top of each page, so you know where you are when surfing :). Currently I'm working on some code to display images dynamically on the site (no more updating html files!) but I want a caption with each image. The only way to do this dynamically would be to use a database (and everyone knows how I hate them) or to rip the information right out of the jpg files. Unfortuantely after much playing around, I've realised that this is no trivial task for a junior programmer, so I might have to stick to images with no captions for now. Oh well. Oh, and while I remember, the google ads on the right are now generating some useful links, so please click on them, visit the sponser's site and get me some money in the mean time :). Shout outs today to go Clare - whos gone home and left me all alone in the house! :(.
