Arg - moving is a nightmare! I'm back in the parent's house with all of my kit and it's a bit of a tight fit. Apologies to all who tried to access my site when it was down, I had to leave the webserver in the car overnight, and then I had to configure the server for this network. You might also notice that pages take longer to load - this connection only has a 16KB/s upload, and when you combine that with the online gaming and other servers, everything tends to slow down a bit. Not living where I was is weird - I've been there for two years and coming back here just doesn't feel quite right. I miss Perky and having my own room. Oh well - hopefully it won't be too long until I get my own place again!

It turns out I can't satisfy a woman. No I'm not talking about in real life - I'm talking about the Hot Coffee mod for GTA : San Andreas which re-enables the sex game that Rockstar disabled. For a laugh I decided to try it on a date with my girlfriend to see what all of the fuss is about. Its nothing special - something to do for a laugh, but the game is impossible! No matter which buttons I pressed or how fast, I could barely keep her excited, until my fingers got tired (hey, keep those thoughts to yourself!) and I couldn't hammer the keys anymore. You have to love the 'mission failed' statement though, "Failure to satisfy a woman is a crime!". For those that check this site every few days, in a couple of days you won't be able to access it for a few hours (hopefully only that long) as I have to move the server back to the parent's house. God knows where it is going to go, there isn't enough room for me in there, let alone all of these PCs. Unfortunately their internet connection is slower than mine here (they've only got a 128Kb/s upstream) so the site is going to be slower than before, hopefully I'll get a job quickly and get my own place with a decent upload. I'm going to miss living here, it's been two years of my life and I really don't like change. Oh well - ce la vie.

Well that's been an eventful few days! The Venice AMD processor turned up about ten minutes after I had posted the last blog - I love Ebuyer! So I spent the day building and testing the rig. All together it took longer than I had hoped - due to me being extra careful with the components I hadn't handled before, but I managed to get it all up and running. All together there were some good points and some bad points. The bad ones included the motherboard, which had no options for overclocking what so ever. I couldn't adjust voltages, HTT speeds, memory timings - anything at all, so it is definitely not going in my final rig. The good points involved the graphics card benching at around the 6300 score in 3Dmark05 when overclocked, which is really good - and it runs everything nicely! Unfortunately I can't test games on it, it seems as doom 3 takes way too much time to run off of the disk, and I only had a single 512MB stick to test the system with, it must have been swapping to the page file like mad - which was causing all kinds of jumpiness. I also couldn't test how far the Venice core would overclock which was a pain - I'll just have to wait until OCZ send me some RAM so I can use the system permanently - as I can't share a single stick between that rig and my main one! Review-wise, my review of the Enermax CS-718 case is just about complete - its just going through its last stages of the editing process at PlanetAMD64 and then I'll post it up here. Onwards with the next reviews now! Oh - and I'm moving home in less than a week, and I'm not looking forward to it. I'm going to have to leave a place of my own - where I've known - and the people around here, not fun.

Reviews, reviews, reviews. I've managed to pick up all of the equipment for review and now I'm swamped with all the work I have to do for them! All of the pictures have been taken and edited, and I'm now working on the reviews themselves, but I've hit a brick wall - I can't actually test anything. The problem is this: The motherboard requires a processor that I physically haven't got. The graphics card requires a socket that I've only got on the motherboard. The case fans and lights are ok, as well as the Coolergiant case - so I'm reviewing them first. In order to try to sort this problem I've splashed out £110 on a low end 3000+ Venice core 939 AMD Athlon processor, which should hopefully clock really well. I've also asked OCZ nicely for some RAM - so on Tuesday (when the processor comes) I can at least test it out - while ripping some parts from my existing rig (which I hate doing). Not much is happening here - the heat wave broke this morning with a lovely storm, so running in that wasn't much fun - and I've managed to slightly burn my thumb on a poor connection when fitting one of these UV lights in the PC (you wouldn't have thought a light could draw enough power to hurt could you?). I've also managed to get Grand Theft Auto San Andreas - and I couldn't help start playing before I try it out on my new graphics card. The result? Well it is an interesting game - I'm not sure actually how large it is yet - but the graphics look the same as Vice City (although I couldn't crank them up, this 9600XT doesn't like it one bit) and the missions are ok. There are some things that are repetitive though - like working out and eating - I mean, why would you spent $3 on a fatty burger, when a $10 salad does the same thing and gives no fat? Especially when pimping a hoe earns you about $100 a go. Only two weeks or so before I have to move out of here - and I'm really not looking forward to it.
