I'm back from a long weekend in Surrey to see Clare, and I'm ready for more amazing fun being unemployed. I thought *stupidly again* that as I'm such an amazing guy, people would want to employ me straight away and that getting a job would be easy. Yeah right, I need to stop kidding myself and realise that I'm nothing special - and that I need to start applying early. This unemployment is getting such a joke I'm going to have to go down to the temporary jobs place soon and sort something out - I completely refuse to sign on to the dole. (Government managed fund for people who cannot get jobs). The weekend in Surrey was good, its great to see Clare again, although I do miss being able to splash out on spending money when I want to, Clare had to pay for everything when I was down there. Review-wise nothing is happening, the Shuttle people have stopped talking to me, and without a case I can't start this water-cooled SFF project. The Crossfire kit isn't coming now either, ATi say we're not big enough (thanks for that) so I have to go beg the nice UK based guy for some kit instead. Oh and two hard drives have died on me now - so I can't even run the test PC, Arg!

Tonight was interesting. I went down the local pub with a few friends and my parents (who decided to tag along) to play our usual poker night. Drinks paid for (thanks Dad!) we had a few good rounds of poker before having to call it an early night. Now unfortunately I'm not much of a poker player, I understand the rules and tactics but I'm no good at bluffing, when I have a good hand everyone knows it, so when I start betting money, people drop out quickly. When I got home, I started talking to a friend of a friend I speak to occasionally, and the conversation turned into a question and answer session. It was going ok until later in the conversation when I found out this person had been misleading me all of the time about what they were telling me, just for amusement. Now I don't think that?s fair, misleading people, it hurts and just makes people not trust you. Ironic, considering I have to get better at it for poker. Oh well, that was a lot of sleep time lost, talking to people as usual, I'll never learn.

I have just added some more code to the Pictures page so that all of the images are now centered. I hadn't realised before how messy the pictures looked on a 1280x1024 screen, so everything should look more professional now.

Well they say no news is good news, so technically I should be fantastic by now. I'm not by the way in case you were wondering - just chugging along as usual. Touch wood, nothing has happened to the car since it was damaged last time, something I am very glad about, it was causing me a great deal of stress. Job hunting is going badly - it seems no-one wants to employ IT graduates with my skill set in this area, so it might have to be a McDonalds job for me! The Antec review is complete but my PC is refusing to install or run certain apps properly so I can't convert it for use on my site yet. I dug out my guitar the other day again - I'm always thinking "I wish I could do that" and I can actually play some tunes on the guitar if I practice some more, so I'm going to drag it out more often. My hardware reviews have been knocked for six recently when Sean told me that the USA contacts won't ship to the UK, so I'm going to be a little stuck. Luckily I am getting an X2 to play with, but I haven't got a motherboard to do anything with it - how annoying! Film-wise, I went to see the Fantastic Four the other day and I must say I was a little disappointed in it. It was ok, but not what it should have been, definitely not another Xmen film.

Work work work - all I ever do. Well that?s not quite true as I was out gaming last night, but that?s not the point. I've been coding again in Java, this time a simple program to convert forum BBcode into valid CSS for the Planetamd64 review change over. Unfortunately it seems as though I'm so rusty even the simplest program is a nightmare, so it took me a day to do it. For those that are interested - I used a String Tokenizer to break up the text and a short 'borrowed' algorithm to find a substring of the BBcode in the token and replace it with the correct CSS code, fairly basic stuff. My review of the Antec TrueControl 2.0 is nearly complete and is just undergoing editing at Planetamd64, so keep an eye out for that. Oh and in recent events of kids and damage to cars, I found this animation that I thought was quite funny.
